Yesterday, suspected Fulani herdsman opened fire on worshippers during Sunday morning mass. According to an eyewitness, “They came with sophisticated weapons shooting and one person died instantly while several others have been admitted at various hospital.” The attacks targeted a Catholic Church in Kachia, a local government area in the Nigerian mid-belt state of Kaduna. Likely perpetrated by Boko Haram accomplices, the attack adds yet another death to the more than 1,600 Christians murdered in 2014 alone.

08/04/2014 Nigeria (allAfrica) – One person was reportedly killed while several others were injured following an attack on a Catholic Church in Ungwan Pau-Pau village, Kachia local government area of Kaduna state by gun men suspected to be Fulani herdsmen on Sunday.

The incident was said to have occurred at about 8 am on Sunday when the gunmen invaded the Church during Sunday worship.

Eye witness said a young man who was guarding the Church was killed while several others sustained injuries from gun shots and were rushed to the hospital in the area for treatment.
