For Christians in Syria, persecution is a daily reality. Mahmoud Itani and his family know this all to well. From violent assaults to having his home attacked, simply being a Christian made him a target. Yet, despite the hardships, his faith never wavered.

“Simply being a Christian means facing persecution, especially since the start of the crisis when people said Christians had no role in this country,” Itani said.

International Christian Concern (ICC) met Itani in 2024 and helped him establish a small dairy business to support his family. Now, he no longer fears losing his livelihood because of his faith.

“When I knew that people from other countries were thinking about us, this meant a lot to me. I want to thank you for giving me this project and hope that you continue to support Christians, especially during these days, as the Christian community in Syria is in dire need of assistance.”

Persecution remains a reality, but Itani finds strength in John 16:33: “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world, you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.”
