05/15/2020 Israel (International Christian Concern) – A U.K. based evangelical Christian media company (God TV) has warned that Israel is currently considering closing their Hebrew language channel. They had signed a 7-year contract establishing the channel two weeks ago, but on Wednesday, Israel’s communication’s ministry confirmed that a hearing has been ordered to evaluate whether the license to broadcast should be revoked.

Media shared a statement by Asher Biton, chairman of the Cable and Satellite Broadcasting Council said, “Our examination shows that this is a channel that seeks to appeal to Jews with the Gospel of Jesus, as opposed to the way the channel was presented in the first place as intended for the Christian population.”

God TV expressed surprise at this decision, saying that they did not realize that the council was considering termination. The broadcaster also said that they had not viewed the application made by the cable provider to the broadcasting council. They also stated that the hearing was opened following a fundraising video that was wrongly worded.
