10/20/2018 Turkey (International Christian Concern) – Only a day after pastor Andrew Brunson was released from his two-year detainment in Turkey, Turkish authorities have arrested another U.S. missionary. David Byle was arrested in Ankara on Saturday, October 13, by the Anti-Terror Police Department. Byle was interrogated and then ordered to leave the country right after his release Sunday afternoon.

This is not the first time Byle has been arrested. Byle, who has been preaching in Turkey for the past 18 years, was arrested on multiple previous occasions, all of which were related to his street evangelism.

According to Open Doors’ World Watch List, Turkey ranks at number 31 where Christians face the most persecution. In this predominantly Muslim country, minority groups, such as Christians, fall victim to various forms of discrimination and unequal treatment from government authorities.
