Mother Lets Police Arrest Her Convert Son, Evangelist in India

A devout Hindu mother let police arrest her son who converted to Christianity.

08/21/2009 India (The Christian Post)-A mother in southwestern Indian state of Kerala has let police arrest her own son and his Evangelist alleging that the materials used for Hindu rituals were burnt when they cleaned the compound and burnt dirt.

Manikandan from a Hindu background had accepted Jesus through Evangelist Sunny Joseph two months back. Manikandan’s family and others are against him because of his faith in Jesus.

On 12 August, Manikandan who lives in Meppadi of Wynad district came to his mother’s place in Vythiri about eight miles away from his home along with Evangelist Sunny Joseph from Thonichal of the same district; and started cleaning the house and burnt all the waste things, GCIC that is investigating the matter said. At that time Manikandan’s mother shouted and some neighbours came, it said.
