11/29/2023 Myanmar (International Christian Concern)Fighting in Myanmar is escalating quickly, posing the biggest threat to the Tatmadaw’s control of Myanmar since they took power in a ruthless coup in 2021. As reported last week, indigenous and pro-democracy forces over the last several weeks have launched numerous offenses against the Tatmadaw in specific states. One Myanmar political and military analyst claims that Tatmadaw is actively collapsing across the country.

More than 330,000 locals have been displaced. For example, reports have emerged of growing tensions in the Indian state of Manipur between Hindu nationalists and pro-democracy fighters from Myanmar who have crossed the border amidst all the fighting. The Chin and Meitei forces from Myanmar are closely and ethnically related to the mostly Christian Kuki people in Manipur. Consequently, the war in Myanmar is leading to other religious challenges and confrontations in neighboring India.
