06/23/2022 Washington D.C. (International Christian Concern) – Last August, there was an attack on a village in central Nigeria, leaving 11 people dead and many others injured. One of the survivors was a young man named Francis, who sustained gunshot wounds to the abdomen and arm.

Among the victims was Francis’ mother, leaving him as an orphan. We had the opportunity to come alongside Francis and pay for his medical care. Meeting his deeper needs, a local ICC staffer named Victor stepped in and adopted Francis into his own family.

Surrounded by persecution on a daily basis, you might assume that Victor’s heart would be calloused to the constant hardships he sees. Yet, he takes the Lord at His word when He commands us to care for the widows and orphans. Thank you for continually stepping in to support those who have lost family members due to persecution.
