11/30/2021 China (International Christian Concern) – China continues to target Christians who attend house churches by harassing, threatening, and detaining them. In the last few days, several house church Christians from Shanghai and Sichuan were taken to their local police stations. While most of them were released, a Christian woman was detained criminally.

On November 28, the police in Shanghai raided Zhongyue Church in Lancun around 11 am. Lawyer Zhang Peihong who leads the church and Zheng Xiangdong were taken to the police station. The two Christian men were released on the same day after their statement was taken.

A day later, brother Yi Yinxiang from Early Rain Covenant Church in Sichuan’s Chengdu was summoned by Dongzhikou police station at 7:25 pm for “participating in cult.” He was only released at 2:42 am the next day.

Qingcaodi Reformed Church in Sichuan’s Deyang, previously raided on November 17 and saw seven of its members detained for “fraud”, is hit with another bad news today – sister Liu Wuyi is now detained criminally. Two other members Xiang Jundi and Lin Yan went to police station to assist with the investigation this afternoon have not returned at the time of writing.

Recent cases show that house church Christians in China are subject to arrests and harassment as long as they refuse to join the state-sanctioned Three Self church. Please continue to keep them in prayers.
