10/31/2021 India (International Christian Concern) – “I am so thankful for the bicycle I received from ICC,” Pastor Naresh Nayak, a beneficiary of the Bibles and Bikes for India Initiative, recently told International Christian Concern (ICC). “Without the addition of the bicycle and Bibles, I would not be able to do the good work I am doing now. I thank ICC for providing me with these resources.

Pastor Nayak serves as an evangelist in the rural parts of the Kandhamal District, located in India’s Odisha State. The Kandhamal District is extremely rural with many people living in hill areas where there are few roads. Using the bicycle provided by ICC, Pastor Nayak can travel further into this rural district and share the Gospel.

My ministry improved so much because I was able to reach far away villages,” Pastor Nayak told ICC. “It was impossible to even think of visiting those villages before and the people gladly received the Bibles and were open to having conversations. I am so motivated because of this encouragement.

The bicycle is also treated as an emergency medical service,” Pastor Nayak continued. “If someone is sick in the village, I bring medicines to help them. The bicycle has been a wonderful tool to connect with the people on various aspects of their lives.

I am very thankful for this gift and believe this bicycle is being used to introduce people to Jesus,” Pastor Nayak said. “Thank you again for giving me this bicycle and the Bibles. It has changed my ministry in a positive way.

Across India, ICC has equipped 1,000 rural evangelists like Pastor Nayak with a bicycle and 100 Bibles through the Bibles and Bikes for India Initiative. Using these simple tools, rural evangelists are bringing the Gospel to the many unreached communities in India.
