Canadian Couple Rejected by Adoption Agency for their Christian Values

09/15/2021 Canada (International Christian Concern) – A Christian couple in Canada was recently rejected by an adoption agency for not affirming transgenderism. The husband, who chose to keep his and his wife’s identity a secret in an interview with LifeSiteNews, said this was despite them previously passing the home check without issue.

The problem first arose when an adoption agency worker from Muskoka Family Connexions asked the couple what they would do if a child said they were trans. The husband said in the interview they told the agency they would “no matter what, …provide love and support” to any child according to their “Christian values.” When the couple was asked a similar question at a different meeting, the couple said, “we would seek out counselling and other resources to support the child.”

The husband added, “We also said that we didn’t agree with providing a minor with hormone treatments or surgery. We also said that that we didn’t agree that we should simply let the child dress as the other gender.”

After this, the couple was informed that the agency had decline to place a child with them because the agency wouldn’t place a child in a home that “does not demonstrate that a child’s human rights for emotional safety and belonging are able to be respected and protected.” The couple was then told “to become more informed with gender identity as a human rights issue.”
