08/18/2021 Afghanistan (International Christian Concern) – The situation in Afghanistan is constantly changing, and most of the news we’re hearing from inside the country is bleak. Christians are Afghanistan’s most vulnerable religious minority. We encourage everyone to call their representative in Congress to support the rescue of persecuted Christians in Afghanistan.
Please share this post to encourage others to take action. As a resource, we have provided the attached script to guide your message. In addition, please be in prayer for our scared and suffering Afghan brothers and sisters.
Call Your Representative
“Hello, my name is ____, and I am calling as a concerned US citizen and Christian.
It is very important that you protect persecuted Christians in Afghanistan. As one of the most vulnerable minority groups in the country, Afghan Christians are in direct danger from the ruling Taliban forces.
Afghanistan’s Christian community is almost exclusively comprised of converts from Islam. Their status as converts makes Afghan Christians direct targets for persecution by both extremist groups and society in general.
According to the Taliban’s ideology, Afghanistan is a Muslim country, and non-Muslims must leave Afghanistan or accept second-class status. For Christians, the Taliban will consider them apostates and subject them to Sharia law’s deadliest consequences.
As an at-risk group, Afghan Christians should be considered as a community to be evacuated from the country, as they will very likely become a target of intimidation, violence, and persecution from the Taliban.
Please consider labeling Afghan Christians as an at-risk group so that they can be internationally recognized and evacuated from the country.
I urge you to act quickly. Thank you.”
