The doctors said that she is in a state of shock and thus has lost her voice,” Pastor Vishnu Dev told Morning Star News. “It took almost a month for her to begin to speak.

According to Morning Star News, the attack on Meenu and her family was instigated by the parking of a car. Manjeet Singh, identified as Meenu’s attacker, reportedly confronted Meenu and her family as they returned home from a worship service to complaint about a car that had been parked near a Sikh temple.

Even though the Christian family agreed to move the car, Singh became enraged and began assaulting the Christians.

Police initially refused to register a complaint against Singh. However, a complaint was officially registered after local Christian leaders intervened. Singh has been charged in connection with the assault, however, local Christians claim the actions taken again Singh and his family have been mild due to political connections.
