07/14/2021 Nagorno-Karabakh (International Christian Concern) –  Religious leaders of Azerbaijan joined the Chairman of the Caucasus Muslims Office for a two-day tour of Shushi. The group participated in prayers at several mosques and observed religious and cultural monuments.

Three busts of famous Azeri artists were recently brought from Baku after Azerbaijan captured Shushi and placed on displace. The Executive Power building of Shushi was also pointed out. The group visited and participated in prayers at Yukhari Govhar Aga and Saatly mosques. The Chairman also presented Shushi’s Special Representative to the President of Azerbaijan a Koran as part of their religious visit.

Though the group included several Jewish, Catholic and Christian religious representatives, the visit to Shushi centered around Islamic religious monuments and faith activity. Notably missing was the famous Ghazanchetsots Cathedral that many Armenians are mourning their access to.
