(International Christian Concern) – In February 2019, Podiya Madakami, a woman from India’s Odisha state, became a Christian and developed a fierce tenacity for Jesus. Podiya’s life shifted from comfort and ease to hardship and persecution once her husband discovered her new faith.
Podiya was beaten, forsaken, and banished from her own home by her husband for her Christian beliefs. After staying with a local Christian family, Podiya and her daughter finally received a home of their own through ICC.
“I was spending my life crying unto the Lord. God heard my prayers, and He sent ICC to me from the other side of the globe. ICC wanted to build a house for me, which I never thought would happen,” Podiya said.
