On the night of November 28, 2019, Fulani militants ambushed James while he was driving home and brutally murdered him. Life for a widow in Nigeria can be intimidating. Grief was tinged with fear and uncertainty for James’s widow, Grace. She had no idea how she was going to provide for her family’s future.
"Life has been difficult since the death of my husband. All hope was lost. I was traumatized, hopeless, and I felt like my world [had] come to an end," she told ICC. When ICC visited Grace in June, she was surviving off of the generosity of friends and the local church. However, she was only able to provide her family with the bare necessities from this aid. She still wanted to provide a better life for her daughter, but had no idea how.
Before the death of her husband, Grace had received some training in hairstyling and hoped that James would help get the equipment she needed to start a business. When her life changed, ICC stepped in to purchase the equipment that would allow her to care for her family and give her back her dignity.
Today, Grace has been successfully running the business for several months, earning enough to provide for her family. She even has hopes of expanding in the future. Grace shared, "May the Lord forgive the men who attacked my husband and may they repent from their evil acts." Read more: bit.ly/35FDtBe… See MoreSee Less
"The autopsy report makes it seem like it was just water damage, but there’s more detail that can be shared," ICC’s Regional Manager told The Christian Post. "She was found dismembered, and there’s no answers to that…Why can’t the autopsy report answer that basic question?" … See MoreSee Less

SURVEILLANCE SOCIETY: PERSECUTION OF CHRISTIANS
We are now living in a surveillance society in which our government has the potential to soon track our every move- reminiscent of George Orwell’s frightening novel, 1984.
RIFD (radio frequency identification) chips are capable of allowing for invisible checkpoints on roads to monitor people’s movements. It could be possible for any government to “take attendance” at any anti-government rally. It could also be used to monitor committed Christians.
This opens the door to security issues: it is easy to clone a RIFD chip and program a new chip with the same ID number. That is why they suggest wrapping your credit cards in an aluminum foil holder to prevent them from being read.
Google the “number of the Beast” and you will get lots of results about microchips and tattoos. You hardly hear the important point. In other words – the devil has lots of pull in the world and will make it tough for God's people to live for Him. Get the point? That’s the deal, denying Jesus.

260 MILLION PERSECUTED CHRISTIANS
Nigeria, however, remains the country more than any other in the world where we find the most Christians killed for their faith, followed by the Central African Republic. Thus, it is in Africa that the greatest number of Christians is killed.
Other data relate to the targeting of religious buildings. At least 9488 churches have been attacked during the course of 2019. That means, on average, 182 churches every week. This number is five times what it was the previous year (that is, an increase of 414%), owing to the action of the Chinese government against churches in China.
Moreover, it is precisely in China that Christian prisoners are most numerous. There are close to 1000 Christian prisoners detained arbitrarily in China, accused of dissidence against the state.
In Eritrea as well, government security forces lead numerous raids against Christians and against house churches. Hundreds of Christians have been arrested and are detained by the government in terrible conditions.
In total, the World Watch List cites 3711 Christians arbitrarily imprisoned across the world, as compared with 3150 the previous year.
MUSLIM LOVE
Has the God of the Qur’an, who is beyond all metaphors, demonstrated the kind of love illustrated by the Christian God?
We are by nature social animals, which mean that we are most fulfilled when we are in loving relationships; without a loving relationship life becomes void of meaning.
WE ARE TALKING ABOUT A PERSONAL CHRISTIAN GOD THAT
• Can have a relationship with you.
• Can provide you with a meaning of life.
• Can communicate with you.
• Can hear your prayers.
• Can forgive you.
• Can give you hope.
• Can deal with your suffering.
• Can feed your moral sensitivities.
• Can love you and value you as a person.
Not interested. This is Islam. Intolerant and murderous.

At the young age of 14, child sponsor recipient Beshoy faces the daunting task of entering the workforce. Although higher education exists, his chances of pursuing a more specialized degree are slim.
While speaking with ICC on why he feels compelled to enter the workforce over continued education, he said, "I always help my family. I arrange and prepare my house. I go to school for two days a week, the rest of the days I get out for work." Before COVID-19 impacted their community, Beshoy worked nearly every day, often for a mere 94 cents a day.
Part of Beshoy’s struggle originates at home. Beshoy’s father is mentally disabled. Throughout Beshoy’s time in ICC’s Hope House program, his father combatively denied the medical and food aid, then later requested assistance again when the family was struggling.
The abuse and neglect of Christian children in Egypt is a manifestation of the mindset that they have little to nothing to offer society and therefore not awarded the same benefits or even a normal childhood.
Beshoy received an education through Hope House and significantly improved his reading and writing abilities during his time. As a result of his sponsorship, he received a quality education that better prepares him for the workforce. Child sponsorship seeks to do the same for others like Beshoy before it is too late and adult-level burdens strip their childhood away. Read more: bit.ly/38J2YDR… See MoreSee Less
