Velma (pictured second on the left) tragically lost her husband, Kevin, earlier this year. Kevin had been travelling home from Mandera, Kenya, where he worked.
On the way, al-Shabaab ambushed his bus and murdered him when he refused to recant his faith in Christ. Velma was five months pregnant when Kevin was killed.
Already a mother of two, Velma gave birth to her youngest son, Rowen, in July. In order to help, ICC gave her a six-month supply of food and children’s clothes in early June.
