11/16/2020 Nigeria (International Christian Concern) – Convictions of six Nigerians, who were arrested and convicted of supporting terrorism last year, have been upheld in appeals court in the United Arab Emirates. The six were convicted of supplying Boko Haram with more than $750,000 in funds from 2015 to 2016. Surajo Abubakar Muhammad and Saleh Yusuf Adamu were sentenced to life in prison in the Middle Eastern country, while the other four, Ibrahim Ali Alhassan, AbdurRahman Ado Musa, Bashir Ali Yusuf and Muhammad Ibrahim Isa, were all sentenced to ten years.
Their lawyers have tried to claim that there was nothing illegal about the transactions that took place at those times. It is also unclear if the money these men sent was used by the terrorist organization. However, support for terror organizations is a global issue. Countries such as the UAE must stop people from inside their own borders from supporting terrorist organizations, even in other countries. Please pray for other countries to take this example.
