11/16/2020 China (International Christian Concern) – On November 14, brother Wu Wuching from the heavily persecuted Early Rain Covenant Church was taken away from his home.

According to an emergency prayer request sent out by the Chengdu-based house church, the police confiscated the cell phones and laptops of brother Wu and his wife, before taking brother Wu away around 10 pm.

Wu was detained at the Longquanyi Police Station for more than 20 hours, until his release at 5 pm on November 15. Wu is a small group leader at ERCC and has been actively serving.

Christian persecution watchdog China Aid suspects that his latest detention might have something to do with Wu’s preaching at an outreach event this past Friday.

Lately ERCC has seen a surge of harassment, surveillance, and detention against its members. The government seeks to intimidate, interrupt, and interfere the house church’s operation, while their pastor is incarcerated for trumped up charges.
