10/15/2020 Nigeria (International Christian Concern) – Boko Haram terrorists killed at least 14 farmers in the village of Ngwom, a small town about 14 km outside of Maiduguri. The terrorist had taken the farmers from their fields in the village and cut their throats. They had also grabbed and slashed a fifteenth farmer, but he survived the attack and is in a hospital in critical condition.
Not much is known about this attack, though the numbers have been confirmed by multiple sources. It is unclear which of the two Boko Haram factions conducted this attack. It is also unclear why the group attacked these farmers or what religion the farmers held. This attack again proves that the group continues to hold the capability to injure and kill many citizens in Nigeria.
More than 3 million people have been displaced by the decade long conflict. Despite constant claims by the government, Boko Haram is not likely to be destroyed completely any time soon. The group has been responsible for the deaths of more than 35,000 people since they began their insurgency in 2009. They have been able to spread their influence to the bordering countries of Chad, Niger, Cameroon and even Burkina Faso. Please pray for an end to this war as soon as possible.
