In July 2019, his Muslim employers tortured and sexually assaulted the young boy. When Badil’s mother discovered his lifeless body, she rushed him to the hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries shortly after.

In order to support this grieving and already financially strained family, ICC covered the costs of Badil’s funeral and burial.

His mother expressed, “I am thankful to ICC for taking care of us. This great concern is appreciated and will strengthen me in my weaknesses. Although I have lost my son, God gave me friends and courage to move forward. Thank you, ICC.”
