05/27/2019 Washington D.C. (International Christian Concern) – The Observatory on Intolerance and Discrimination Against Christians in Europe released a report in February decrying numerous assaults on Christian churches and monuments in France. According to the report, “In the first 11 days of February, there were 10 recorded attacks on churches in France.” The recorded damage included setting fire to an altar and desecrating various statues.

The Observatory, an organization dedicated to building a Europe “where Christians may fully exercise their fundamental right to freedom of religion … without fear of reprisals, censorship, threats, or violence,” believes that these attacks are a sign of growing anti-Christian hostility. French Prime Minister Edouard Philippe has denounced the attacks and has met with church leaders to prevent future attacks.
