05/26/2019 Nigeria (International Christian Concern) – Unknown gunmen have kidnapped a third person from Plateau State Polytechnic in Jos, Nigeria. On 25 May, the gunmen stormed the polytechnic and started firing guns into the air. This scared the residents of the staff quarter of the school and everyone hid inside their homes. A=In the aftermath, it was learned that a young lady was abducted from her home. Her name has not yet been released.

Last year, a reverend living in the staff housing also had his son kidnapped during a very similar incident. Reverend dido’s home was invaded by gunmen, identified by the victim’s family as Fulani militants, late one night. They then stole all of his money, cell phones, and took his son for ransom. Thankfully, he was able to get his son, Kim Dido, back for the ransom the next night. Next, there was a second attack on the Polytechnic three weeks ago when gunmen kidnapped a daughter of one of the school staff.

All three incidents follow very similar methods of attack and are likely to have been completed by the same group of gunmen. The police and military have yet to do anything to ensure that those who are conducting these attacks are stopped. The Nigerian government continues to prove that they are incapable of protecting their own citizens and need major reform. Nigeria has seen some of the highest death numbers due to Islamic extremist attacks in the world over the past two years. Groups like Boko Haram and Fulani Militants have used the Governments complacency and inadequacy to attack the people of Nigeria many times.
