05/22/2019 Israel (International Christian Concern) – The Jerusalem office of Daystar, one of the largest Christian networks in the world, was firebombed by an arsonist over the weekend. The office was in the process of renovation, and the fire destroyed most of the work and existing space. The fire was reportedly so hot that things melted rather than burned.

Security footage captured the arsonist fleeing the scene. Police have two theories about the incident. First, that the crime was religiously motivated. Christians are often targeted during the Islamic holy month of Ramadan. The second theory is that an employee of an adjacent studio was upset with those working at Daystar. This employee has not come to work since the arson attack. Police continue to investigate the incident.

Significant repairs are needed to repair the damage from the attack.  It is anticipated that it will take several months before the studio is again operational.
