Boko Haram Attacks Village Near Chibok on Day of Kidnapping Anniversary

04/16/2019 Nigeria (International Christian Concern) – The day that Chibok was remembering five-year anniversary since the abduction of their daughters by Boko Haram, the village of Kwarangulum, just 10 miles away was being attacked. Four trucks full of Boko Haram militants pulled into the village, shooting indiscriminately and burning down houses. During the attack, they stole as much food and supplies as their vehicles could carry and burned everything else.

It is believed that these were militants loyal to the Abubakar Shekau faction of Boko Haram. They are the same group that has been terrorizing the Chibok area since before the kidnapping, and who is still holding 112 girl’s captive. It is believed that no one was hurt during the attack though. The villagers were able to flee prior thanks to warning from other villages who saw the terrorists driving.

Boko Haram has been making a comeback over the past several months. This includes both the Shekau and ISIS factions. With these attacks, they are regaining much needed supplies and retaking territory that they lost over the past several years.
