ICC Provides Job Training for Persecuted Women in Myanmar
Pausa Seng Mai is just one of the Kachin women who is receiving looming training so she can provide for her family.
When civil war broke out in 2011, indigenous Christian Kachins living in the Northern part of Myanmar abandoned their homes and fled for their lives.
Thanks to your help, ICC partnered with a local group to provide women with a valuable skill. Looming, a cultural Kachin tradition, allows women to both stay connected to their heritage and care for their families as they work from home.
As these women grow in their skills and share their knowledge of looming with others, your generosity continues to multiply!
- For the “suffering caused by the civil war [to] end very soon and peace [to] be upon our land” – looming participant Sumlut Lum Seng Nan
- For the success of the looming project & for participants to become financially stable
- For these women “to be able to teach [looming to] other younger friends” – looming participant Ms. Hpauji Nu Pan
