11/27/2018 Kenya (International Christian Concern) – Suspected Al-Shabaab militants conducted an attack last week in Kilifi County, Kenya. During the attack, they injured five people by shooting randomly into crowds, and then kidnapped an Italian NGO worker from her rented home there. There are known to have been six assailants during the attack. Kenyan Police believe they have photos of three of the attackeers and have offered a reward for information on them that leads to the arrest.

The Italian woman, Silvia Costanza Romano, was working with a small NGO named Africa Milele Onlus. This Ngo works to spread literacy and house orphans in this area of Kenya. No group has come forward to claim responsibility for the kidnapping or to ask for a ransom yet. We are hopeful that the Kenyan government will work hard to find and rescue Silvia as soon as possible. This is the first kidnapping of a foreigner in Kenya in several years.
