ICC Note: A report was released last week stating that at least 6,000 Nigerian Christians have been brutally murdered by Fulani militants this year so far. Many church leaders are worried and fear that the persecution against Christians in Nigeria will continue to increase without any form of repercussion against the perpetrators.
8/21/2018 Nigeria (World Tribune) –More than 6,000 Nigerian Christians, mostly women and children, have been murdered by herdsmen this year, a report said.
“What is happening in Plateau State and other select states in Nigeria is pure genocide and must be stopped immediately,” Christian Association of Nigeria and church denominational heads in Plateau State said in a press release last week.
The church leaders said that “over 6,000 persons, mostly children, women and the aged have been maimed and killed in night raids by Fulani herdsmen” who are armed and predominantly Muslim.
