ICC Note: Women in Muslim dominated countries are seen and treated as second class citizens who are not even able to enjoy the same rights as men. Christian women in these same countries are considered to be even below Muslim women and are considered a double target because of both their gender and faith. Unfortunately, young girls are vulnerable to violence, while their parents are unable to protect them because the authorities are accomplices to such persecution and abuse.

 12/19/2017 Egypt (Christian Today) –  Christian girls in Egypt are being targeted for kidnapping, forced marriage and conversion, according to Release International, which supports persecuted Christians around the world.

Release describes an epidemic of grooming, forced conversion and kidnapping, believed to be funded by religious leaders with cash from Saudi Arabia.

Release believes this is a deliberate strategy of persecution and is urging Egypt to protect its vulnerable Christian minority.
