ICC Note: Thousands of Christians around the world have been forced to leave their homes due to the persecution they experience in their countries. Many of these victims are simply trying to save their lives and families since they are unprotected simply for identifying themselves as Christians. Unfortunately, persecution is not only growing in afflicted areas, but it is also spreading to other regions.
10/23/2017 Indonesia (WMUR) – The group of 69 immigrants has been living in the United States for nearly two decades.
“They followed the right steps, so when people follow the right steps, when they’re following that legal pathway, that’s when we have to make it easy for folks,” Sununu said.
The group of Christians fled religious persecution and violence in Indonesia, entered the U.S. legally on tourist visas, and filed applications for asylum.
Advocates say if these people were sent back to Indonesia, they could face much more dangerous situations than what they were originally running from.
