A church in Quetta, Pakistan was damaged following a grenade attack perpetrated by unknown extremists. According to reports, unknown individuals threw a grenade into the Gospel Faith Church where its explosion damaged the church building and a car parked at the church. Fortunately, no one was at the church during the attack. Attacks on Christian places of worship have become more common in Pakistan as terrorists use churches as soft targets to cause maximum damage. Authorities in Quetta are not investigating the matter to bring the perpetrators to justice. 

10/11/2017 Pakistan (Christians in Pakistan) – Militants hurl grenade on a church in Quetta, however no casualties reported. The attackers were able to flee from the scene after throwing a grenade on the church. Police have failed to establish the identity of the attackers, as the hunt for the attackers continues.

Gospel Faith Church located on Arbab Karam Khan Road, Nawab Khair Bakhsh Murree Street came under attack by the suspected terrorists. The attack unfolded at a time, when all the congregants had returned home and there was no one inside the church.

Police confirmed that the grenade went off after as soon as it touched the roof of the church. Church administration stated that gate of the church; a wall and a car inside the church were damaged as a result of blast.

After the incident, the security forces cordoned off the area and launched investigations. Chief Minister of Balochistan, Nawab Sana ullah Zehri took notice of the incident and directed the concerned authorities to conduct investigations into the incident.

CM Balochistan also directed the Inspector General Police to tighten security measures at worship places and other public places.
