Fulani men kill Catholic Seminarian
ICC Note: Several Fulani militants armed with machetes slaughtered a Catholic Seminarian, a pregnant woman, and injured other people on Thursday morning. The victim used to be a student at the Catholic Spiritian International School of Theology (CSIST) and a tenant at the woman’s house. The militants were grazing cattle inside the property of the victim and when the women noticed their presence. They immediately rang the metal gong to alert the village. This enraged the militants because it caused the cattle to run in disarray and they promised to invade them that night. The villagers are desperate and tired of how the Fulani men have raped, robbed, and taken over their lands without any immediate repercussions. The Fulani group has almost exclusively targeted Christians, as they seek to displace farmers for the purpose of territorial takeover in the name of Islam.
