ICC Note: Three more Hindu priests in Bangladesh have received anonymous letters containing death threats. In each case a plain manila envelope containing the threat was left in the temple or with an assistant. Outbreaks of religiously-motivated violence in Bangladesh have skyrocketed over the past three years, culminating in an attack on a Dhaka café that killed 20 people on July 1. Most of the violence has mostly been directed toward religious minorities, such as Hindus and Christians, and others who do not conform to Islam.

7/20/2016 Bangladesh (AsiaNews) – In recent days, three Bangladeshi Hindu priests have received anonymous letters in which they are threatened with death. The letters were delivered to the temples where the religious serve and now even the local faithful fear for their lives, because of yet another threat against religious minorities in the country.
