ICC Note: Rachael Gikonnyo sustained crippling spinal injuries when she was shot during the horrific April 2 al-Shabaab attack on Garissa University in northeast Kenya. Rachael spent the past three months undergoing medical treatment in India, which has allowed her to walk slowly with a walker, and she’s scheduled next to undergo stem cell surgery that doctors say will allow her full walking capability to return. The following video shows Rachael praising God and worshiping with her church family after she recently returned home from India. During the Garissa attack, gunmen separated Christians from Muslims, murdering believers and letting Muslims go free.

5/9/16 Murang’a County, Kenya (NTV) – Rachael Gikonyo had despaired that she would be able to walk again, let alone going back to school. She was in constant pain with fragments of bullets.
