FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
02/11/2016 Washington D.C. (International Christian Concern) – Six hours after Russia submitted a ceasefire proposal, world leaders in Geneva announced that they agreed to a ceasefire in the Syrian Civil War that has lasted for the past three years and taken hundreds of thousands of lives. International Christian Concern (ICC) sources have reported that if the ceasefire is, in fact, adhered to, it would be implemented in the next week, causing incredible reprieve to the millions of Syrian civilians that either remained in hiding or were displaced since the commencement of the war.
Emma Lane, ICC’s Regional Manager for the Middle East, said: “This ceasefire, if implemented and respected by both the Assad Regime and the opposition forces, would be a huge step toward relief for the millions of Syrian civilians that have been caught in the middle of the gunfire since the war started. The important thing is that the terms that have been agreed to by both parties, in the presence of world leaders, be implemented and respected in order to stop the bloodshed that has been poured since 2012.”
