ICC Note: 2015 was a banner year for persecution in Africa. From the 33 Ethiopian and Eritrean Christians that the Islamic State (IS) murdered in April, to the April 2 attack on Garissa University College in Kenya, to the Egyptian 21, major persecution events punctuated the year, highlighting increasing heat on the Church all over the continent. One of the world’s most notorious persecutors in 2015 was IS. The following report from al-Jazeera seeks to map Is attacks across the world, with marked concentration in Africa and the Middle East.
