The lead up to the Christmas holiday has brought hope to many in Nepal, a country currently suffering from a trade embargo and still recovering from devastating earthquakes that struck earlier this year. After passing its secular constitution five months ago, Nepal has been under a trade embargo from India. That has lead to many suffering in Nepal because people cannot find fuel to heat their homes or to cook their food. Christians only make up a small percentage of Nepal’s population, but Christmas is celebrated or revered by most in the country and many feel hopeful because of the upcoming holiday.
