ICC Note: Chinese authorities have converted a 100 year old Protestant church in Hubei province into a shopping mall with incomplete documents. The Trinity Protestant Church was originally built in 1910 and destroyed by the Chinese government in 2013 for being considered a “dangerous building”. The Protestant church had been one of the last three churches in Wuhan to have a blend of Chinese and western architecture. Due to incomplete documentation, the shopping mall’s fate will be re-evaluated by local officials.
