ICC Note:  A South African Christian student was removed from her position as acting-president in her university’s student council over a Facebook post calling homosexuality and gay marriage a sin.  The post was in response to the recent US Supreme Court decision that legalized gay marriage in all 50 states.  The University of Cape Town is further investigating the issue.  Zizipho Pae has received heavy public backlash since the post, including being personally threatened, having her office vandalized, and having gay pornography posted on her Facebook wall.  Despite the hostility, Pae has stood firmly by her Biblical convictions, and has not backing down from the statements that she made.

7/14/15, South Africa (Charisma News) – A Christian student in South Africa who used her personal Facebook page to express regret about the legalization of gay marriage across the U.S. has been ousted from her position on her university’s student council.

Zizipho Pae was removed as acting president of the University of Cape Town’s Student Representative Council (SRC), which is currently investigating her Facebook post.

Reacting to the U.S. Supreme Court’s decision to redefine marriage for every state, Pae had written: “We are institutionalizing and normalizing sin! Sin. May God have mercy on us.”
