ICC Note: Boko Haram is forcing the abducted Chibok girls to join the terrorist organization. Since being captured in April 2014, more 200 of the girls remain in captivity. Earlier reports have suggested that some of these girls may have been forced to carry out suicide bombing attacks. Now, some of the girls are reportedly being brainwashed to slit throats of Boko Haram enemies, and to even terrorize fellow captives. The Chibok girls, who are mostly Christian, are in severe physical, mental, and psychological danger in the hands of Boko Haram. Many Christian captives of Boko Haram have been raped, impregnated, and have seen unspeakable horrors, now having to live with nightmares and face the possibility f being ostracized by their home villages because they carry the children of fighters.
