ICC Note: The same terror group that killed 148 people, mostly Christians, in the April 2 attack on Garissa University College, has recently made similar incursions into Garissa County, thankfully without piling up such devastating casualties. After taking over a mosque in Garissa County earlier this week where al-Shabaab militants preached against the Kenyan government, Kenyan security forces drove back an attack on Yumbis village Thursday evening with no reported casualties. Yumbis is located 45 miles north of Garissa town.
5/22/15 Yumbis, Kenya (Christian Today) – Al Shabaab militants attacked a village in the northeastern Kenyan county of Garissa, the ministry of interior said on Friday.
The Somalia-based al Shabaab group, which has carried out frequent attacks in Kenya in recent years to try to force Nairobi to pull its troops out of Somalia, struck a university in the same area last month, killing 148 people.
