Suspect Accused of Involvement in Lahore Church Bombings Arrested in Pakistan
Pakistani security agencies have arrested a suspect accused of involvement in the twin suicide bombings of two churches in Lahore’s Christian dominated neighborhood of Youhanabad. The attacks on the churches claimed the lives of 19 people and injured as many as 100 more. The bombings also sparked a deadly protest in which Christians captured and murdered two Muslim men accused by the mob of being involved in the attacks on the churches. 4/23/2015 Pakistan (Pakistan Today) – The security agencies have arrested a suspect allegedly involved in twin attacks on two churches in Youhanabad on Wednesday.
The agency’s personnel raided near Bhatta Chowk and arrested Abid Baig Muaviya, a suspect responsible for bombing two churches in Youhanabad.
The suspect has been shifted to an undisclosed location for interrogation.
Baig, a resident of Dera Ghazi Khan, has been suspected of facilitating the suicide bombers in attacks on churches.
Two churches, located half a mile apart in Youhanabad, were attacked by two suicide bombers.
