Last month, Muslim protests against the latest depiction of the Prophet Mohammed by French satirical magazine, Charlie Hebdo, devolved into violent riots that destroyed as many as 70 churches and dozens more Christian homes and businesses. Regrettably, Pastor Z’s church and home were ransacked during the violence, forcing him, his 6-months pregnant wife, and their three children to seek shelter in a friend’s living room. As a part of our disaster relief response, ICC restored water and electricity to both Pastor Z’s home and church so that he can move his family back home so they can begin to rebuild all that was lost in the carnage. ICC is committed to supporting Pastor Z, his family, and his congregation every step of the way.
