Anh’s husband, a Vietnamese pastor, was tortured and murdered by Vietnamese police earlier this year. She learned of her husband’s death when the police sent her husband’s body to her. She was five months pregnant with her fifth child. When we met her and her four children in Thailand (where she is seeking asylum) she was expecting her baby at any moment and was living with more than 12 other people in a small and crowded apartment without air conditioning in the tropical heat.
ICC provided emergency assistance during the delivery of her baby (Dania, born 9/8) and we are now setting her up with a small business she can run to provide for herself and five children.
