A Christian leader in Nigeria has called on Christians and Muslims alike to work together toward peace in Nigeria. Boko Haram, a radical Islamic insurgency bent on establishing a separate Islamic state has been gaining ground in Nigeria’s northeastern Borno State. Not only is the group responsible for the egregious mass-abduction of more than 200 schoolgirls, 90% of whom are professed Christians, they are also responsible for having killed more than 1,600 Christians in the first 6 months of 2014 alone.

08/20/2014 Nigeria (allAfrica) – Christian leader, Joseph Otubu, has called on Nigerians both Christians and Muslims, to turn onto God for enduring solutions to Boko Haram and other security problems through fervent, genuine prayers and supplications.

Delivering a sermon during the 50th anniversary celebrations of the Motailatu Church Cherubim and Seraphim Worldwide, at Lekki in Ajah area of Lagos, Otubu said that Nigerians need to pray that God should touch the hearts of Boko Haram sect members to stop killing innocent people and destroying their property because it is God who created them.
