More Than 16,000 Pakistani Christians Are Seeking Asylum

Recently, the chief executive of a Pakistani non-governmental organization (NGO) reaffirmed his commitment to supporting Pakistani Christians seeking asylum in other nations. He strongly denounced a document attributed to him that had been circulating online, which several publications now say was fabricated to infuriate Pakistani Christian refugees all across South and South East Asia against him. At a time when over 16,000 Christians have left Pakistan to seek asylum elsewhere, the NGO head noted, “We know that Pakistani Christians are facing a lot of problems in Pakistan and we will never go against our brothers on any condition no matter whatever happens.

7/16/2014 Pakistan (Christians in Pakistan) – According to details, Farrukh Harrison Saif –Chef Executive of the Farrukh Saif Foundation (FSF) has reaffirmed his dedication to deliver the browbeaten and persecuted Pakistani Christians who are seeking asylum in foreign countries. In his press note he states: there are more than 16 thousand Pakistani Christian asylum seekers in Sri Lanka, Malaysia, Hong Kong and Thailand who fled from Islamic Republic of Pakistan for safety of their lives. Excerpt:

“I Farrukh Harrison Saif, head of Farrukh Saif Foundation Previously known as World Vision in Progress, do hereby strongly [condemn] that I have been falsely accused for giving an application in Police station against Pakistan Christians asylum seekers. I, Farrukh H. Saif never initiated any of such application against Pakistani Christian Asylum seekers, neither has it had my signatures nor the address mentioned is correct, As well as the name of our organization written on the application is incorrect. I have never a member of any political party of Pakistan. And especially regarding PML(N) I called it a Anti-Christian party , Nawaz Sharif is the one who empowered the 8th Amendment in May, 1991 which accelerated the religious persecution in Pakistan… [We] are standing with our brothers and sisters who had taken refuge in Sri-Lanka, Bangkok, and Malaysia. We know that Pakistani Christians are facing a lot of problems in Pakistan and we will never go against our brothers on any condition no matter whatever happens. We will stand with our community. As human it hurt and discouraged me, when dozens of people started abusing accusing and using unhealthy words for me in social media. Some of them abuse and disrespect my family in their timelines and inbox messages. Even after this whole episode, I will carry on my work to support and help Persecuted Christian community. As it is written “… do well to those who hate you, bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.” (Luke 6:27-28) God Bless you All.”

In his statement previously reported, he had mentioned that, “The situation is serious; minorities, especially Christians and Hindus are being targeted for acts of terrorism, mass violence and abuse of the blasphemy law. Because of this situation an increasing number of families choose to leave Pakistan. Thousands of Pakistani Hindus seek refuge in India, while Christians, Ahmadis, Shias and other religious groups have reached East Asia and South Asia and have registered with the UN High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), hoping to be able to settle in a country where they can enjoy equal rights.”

Moreover, in order to spoil Mr. Farrukh Saif’s booming “Rescue Mission of Christians from Pakistan” some of this rescue mission’s rivals circulated a fake and fabricated application from Mr. Farrukh H. Saif on social media which infuriated thousands of Pakistani Christian asylum seekers in South and South East Asia. As a consequence, he issued a press release clarifying his mission.
