Last week Sunday, the opening of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church was turned into a tragedy when suspected terrorists tossed a bomb into the packed church. As a result of the bombing, three Christians were killed. On Friday, these three victims were laid to rest on the church grounds as Tanzania’s Prime Minister addressed the mourners.
5/13/2013 Tanzania (All Africa) – Tanzania’s Prime Minister Mizengo Pinda addressed crowds of mourners on Friday (May 10th) at the burial of three people killed in the bombing of a Catholic church in Arusha last week, Tanzania’s The Guardian reported.
Regina Luning’o Kuresoi, 50, James Gabriel, 16, and Patricia Joackim, 9, were laid to rest on the premises of the bombed church in Arusha’s Olasiti suburb.
Pinda reiterated the government’s commitment to bringing the perpetrators of the attack to justice, and said the government has distributed 100 million shillings ($61,400) in assistance for the victims.
