Islamists Declare Jihad On Nigerian Christians
March 6, 2012 Washington D.C. (International Christian Concern)-Members of Boko Haram, Nigeria’s radical Muslim group, recently declared war on Christians in northern Nigeria. The group vowed to “eradicate Christians” from areas of Nigeria.
In a statement to, a spokesman of the group said they will “launch a number of attacks” targeting Christians.
Boko Haram‘s declaration of more attacks comes on the heels of atrocities committed against the innocent, including Christians, moderate Muslims and Nigeria’s security officials. Since Christmas alone, the group has murdered close to 100 Christians in northern Nigeria.
It is outrageous that Boko Haram has been able to kill hundreds of innocent people in Nigeria. It is unacceptable for these religious cleansings to continue unabated. The primary responsibility of any government is the protection of its citizens. Unfortunately, Nigeria has failed to deliver peace and security for its citizens. We urge Nigeria to muster its resources and political will to stop the bloodshed,” said Jonathan Racho, ICC’s Regional Manager for Africa.
Please call the Nigerian embassy in your country and ask Nigerian officials to take measures to protect Christians from the impending attacks. Also ask the Nigerian officials to bring the perpetrators who attack the innocent to justice.
