PRAYER: Iraq: Update On Three Christians Kidnapped Near Kirkuk
ICC Note
Three kidnapped Iraqi Christians were freed after ransom was reportedly paid. Two other Christians were shot dead. Please continue praying for Christians in Iraq.
10/03/2011 Iraq (Middle East Concern)-Greetings in the name of Jesus, Prince of Peace
Last week we request prayer for three Assyrian Christians, together with a Turkman Muslim, who were kidnapped near Kirkuk on 21st September. We are pleased to report that they were released on 30th September. Reportedly a ransom was paid to secure their release.
We regret to report that two Christian men have been shot dead in Kirkuk. Hanna Polos Emmanuel’s body was found on the city’s outskirts on the 1st. He was 60 years old. Later, Bassam Isho was killed in the Muthana district on the 2nd. He was 30 years old.

Iraqi Christians rejoice in the release of the three men and thank us for our prayers. They request our continued intercession that:
1. Those kidnapped, together with their families, will find emotional healing after facing this trauma
2. The families of those killed will know the peace, presence and comfort of Jesus
3. The perpetrators of violence against Christians will know the Spirit’s conviction, the Son’s offer of forgiveness and the Father’s welcome to relationship with God
4.The authorities will act decisively to improve security for all people, including Christians and other religious minorities, in Kirkuk and throughout Iraq.
