Islamic Alliance A Big Worry In Nigeria
ICC Note
“Now that there is [an] alliance between Boko Haram and Al Qaeda, it means that Boko Haram will get more aid and training and expertise on how to carry out attacks against its targets, including on Christians.”

09/19/2011 Nigeria (One News Now)-Christians in Nigeria are concerned about a possible alliance between two radical Islamic groups.
The government first recognized that possibility after one of the groups, Boko Haram, bombed a United Nations building in Nigeria. That group’s alliance would be with al-Qaeda. Jonathan Racho with International Christian Concern says Boko Haram is responsible for deadly attacks against Christians in the north.
“Now that there is [an] alliance between Boko Haram and Al Qaeda, it means that Boko Haram will get more aid and training and expertise on how to carry out attacks against its targets, including on Christians,” he warns.
According to Racho, many Christians in the north have fled their homes, and churches and homes have been torched.
“This group is also known for attacking moderate Muslims — Muslims who are opposed to its radical ideology have also been killed,” he tells OneNewsNow. “Even the Nigerian security officers have also been targeted and murdered by the members of this group.”
