5/18/2011 Iran (Mohabat News) – In recent months, many of the high ranking religious leaders and experts have been launching harsh and confrontational campaigns against Christianity and other non-Islamic beliefs inside Iran and most of government media outlets such as newspapers, websites, and other news agencies have been reflecting these attacks.

Certainly such behavior reflects the failure of the current Islamic regime in presenting its Islamic ideology and despite extensive sums allocated and spent on creating and managing the government propaganda machine, the results have been anything but satisfactory. Reports from inside Iran indicate that more than even before people, especially the younger generation, are turning to Christianity as the faith of choice.

The government-friendly media have proven that in the recent month there have been concerted efforts and pre-planned strategies in publishing articles and news items that could be perceived as destructive to the Christian faith. These organizations have been aiming to exert pressure on the Christians inside Iran and to discredit their Christian faith and by publishing such anti-Christian reports to further antagonize the security and judicial authorities to take harsher measures against the Evangelical Christianity in Iran as evidenced by the recent wave of extremely repressive and confrontational measures that have resulted in home invasions and the arrests of dozens of Christians in many cities and towns in Iran.

Nevertheless, the actions of the Islamic Republic against Christians must sound an alarm in the Christian community, especially those who have recently become Christians that they should be aware of these repressive elements and exercise extreme caution and care regarding security matters in order to protect themselves and their families because of the Islamic Republic’s attempt to use such negative campaigns and media attacks to sway the public opinion against the Evangelical Christian movement and to discredit its adherents.
